Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Gentyc, LLC (“Gentyc,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the website at gentyc.com (the “Site”). It applies only to the Site. Our future products will carry their own privacy policies appropriate to what they do.
Information we collect
We do not collect personal information through this Site. The Site is a single-page brand statement with two supporting documents (this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service). It does not include account creation, email signup, contact forms, comment fields, or any other mechanism for visitors to submit personal information.
The Site uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. The data collected by this service is described in the Analytics section below. It is anonymized at the source and is not used to personally identify visitors.
When you visit the Site, our hosting provider may automatically receive standard server-level information that any web server receives in the ordinary course of serving a request, such as IP address, browser type, and timestamp. We do not log, store, aggregate, or analyze this information ourselves. Our hosting provider retains it under its own privacy practices for security and service-delivery purposes.
How we use information
Because we do not collect personal information through the Site, we do not use it for marketing, profiling, advertising, or any other purpose. The aggregate analytics described below are used by us only to understand traffic patterns to the Site. If you contact us directly at the email address listed in our footer, we will use the contents of your message only to respond to you.
Analytics
The Site uses Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service provided by our hosting provider. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not personally identify visitors. Visitors are identified only by a hash that is generated fresh each day and discarded after twenty-four hours, which means visitors cannot be tracked across days or across other websites.
The data points recorded for each page view include the timestamp, the page URL, the referring URL (if any), filtered query parameters, an approximate geographic location (typically city-level), the device operating system and version, the browser and version, and the device type. These data points are stored in aggregate and used by us to understand which pages are being visited, how visitors are finding the Site, and what devices are being used.
Visitors who prefer not to be measured can use any analytics-blocking browser extension; the Site functions normally without Vercel Web Analytics.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Site does not set first-party cookies and Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies required to deliver the Site (for example, to route requests or protect against abuse). These do not identify you and are not used by us for any purpose beyond serving the page.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information collected through this Site, because we do not collect any. If we receive correspondence directly from you (for example, through the email address in our footer), we treat it as confidential and do not share it with third parties except as required to operate Gentyc as a business (for example, with our legal or accounting advisors under professional duties of confidentiality), or as required by law.
Data retention
We retain no Site-collected personal information because we collect none. Direct correspondence sent to us by email is retained for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond and to maintain ordinary business records.
Your rights
If you have sent us correspondence directly and would like us to delete it, correct it, or provide a copy to you, please contact us at the address in our footer. We will respond within a reasonable period.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act give you specific rights regarding personal information. Because we do not collect personal information through the Site, those rights have nothing to attach to in this context. If we begin collecting personal information in the future, this Policy will be updated to describe those rights and how to exercise them.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with comprehensive data-protection law, the same applies: this Policy will be updated when our practices change in a way that brings such laws into scope.
Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the Site does not collect personal information at all, this is true by construction.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Site or our practices change. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this document. Material changes will be reflected by a new version of this document at gentyc.com/privacy. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
